The Hat Maker
I make soft vinyl custom hats for Johnny West and family. Check out my catalog for some that I have for sale.
| Here you see a custom stetson. This is a copy of the Sam Cobra hat in hard resin. Smoothed and covered in a special textured paint to make it look like felt. Then I had a real leather headband inside. This hat now fits Sam and other JW cowboys very well and won't blow off in a gentle breeze. | ||

 Click for Close-up I first cast the original and then just the top with the 7th Cav crossed sabers. Then I glued the top onto the cast at the correct angle and filled in the gap with sculpting clay |

 Click for Close-up Johnny Reb can't be left out. Here is one of my custom figures with a gray colored kepi - I plan to make it better by adding the CSA symbol instead of the 7th Cav symbol - but it still looks pretty good! |
